Fields in the Fog

During a recent visit to Sharpsburg, I discovered a heavy, thick fog which lent an eerie feeling to the battlefield, as if the smoke of battle lingered still.

Sincerely,

Randy

You always manage to make me catch my breath. How I envy your ability to visit these places!

This reminds me of one of my visits to Gettysburg. It was early morning and my first stop was East Cavalry Field. The fog was thick and there wasn't another soul in sight. It is one of my favorite memories of Gettysburg. Thank you for bringing back that almost eerie feeling.

Hi Joshua,

You describe my experience perfectly. I walked these fields early in the morning and was completely alone except for the memory of what these men did here. It was a moment I hope others can experience as well.
